Meet Deena

As a proud Livermore mom, board-certified chiropractor, business owner, and dedicated School Board Trustee, I am committed to putting students first. Since taking office in December 2024, I have worked diligently to deliver results: championing academic excellence, ensuring school safety, supporting our teachers and staff, and bringing fiscal responsibility and transparency to district decisions.

My Record as Trustee
In my first term, I have been a consistent advocate for smart financial stewardship during challenging budget times. I pushed for greater transparency in how the district communicates with families and stakeholders about finances, and I emphasized the need for balanced, responsible decisions that protect both our educators and the district’s long-term solvency. I actively participate on key committees, including the Math Task Force, to drive improvements in student learning while keeping costs in check. I regularly visit and oversee Del Valle Continuation High School, East Avenue Middle School, Rancho Las Positas Elementary School, and Vineyard Alternative to ensure resources are used effectively and reach every student.

I continue to champion data-driven strategies that boost test scores, critical thinking skills, and college-and-career readiness. School safety remains a top priority through targeted security improvements like cameras and access controls. I support fair compensation for our hardworking teachers paired with rigorous fiscal oversight that prevents waste and protects taxpayer dollars.

My Vision Moving Forward

  • Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency: Demand clear, honest budgeting, regular public reporting, and decisions that live within our means while protecting essential programs.
  • Academic Excellence: Expand proven, efficient programs to close achievement gaps and prepare every student for success.
  • School Safety: Strengthen security and anti-bullying efforts so all students learn in a safe environment.
  • Parent & Community Unity: Increase open communication and genuine parental involvement so every family feels informed and respected.
  • Teacher Support: Champion competitive pay alongside responsible financial management to attract and retain excellent educators.
  • Student Wellness: Promote inclusive supports that help every child thrive mentally, physically, and socially.

I ran for the school board because, as a mother of school-aged children, I care deeply about the quality of education and the wise use of resources in our community. My experience as Trustee has reinforced my commitment to common-sense leadership that prioritizes students, accountability, and fiscal integrity.
